The voice can be one of the most important ways of expressing ourselves and is an amazing way to connect with how we are feeling. This series of workshops will focus on setting your voice free, so you can feel your voice when it is the most authentic, free and without any strain. With help from yoga, breath exercises and singing techniques, we will examine how we can use the voice to release tensions, enter a meditative state as well as just singing for the fun it.

We will support our voice with specific yoga sequences developed specifically for the “singing body” and discover how movement and singing can be combined. We will work with different singing techniques from the Anne Rosing Method, and explore how singing and yoga together can influence each other and create focus, grounding and being present in the moment.

In this course we will meet over three weeks and you will have time to go home and test some of the techniques we will explore from time to time. We will focus on different areas of the body - releasing the jaw, releasing the back side of your body, and open up the throat with stretches and massaging it. And if you are up for it we will dedicate a little time to try and sing in front of each other to get some personal feedback.

If you are interested in working with your voice and have never done this before, or if you are a yoga teacher who would like more knowledge of your voice, or if you are experiencing problems with using your voice fully - then this is for you. All levels are welcome.
