Introduction to inversions

Inversions can be incredibly scary at first, but also incredibly fun and balancing once you begin to find your confidence upside down. They require you to be fully connected and at the same time they have the potential to bring you into an almost meditative state once you find that sweet spot in balance.


In this 2.5 hour workshop we will expand our knowledge of inversions and play with getting upside down. This workshop is an introduction to inversions, where we will look at a range of inversions and cover some of the principles which apply to these.


About this workshop

In this workshop we will cover headstand, pincha and handstand and dedicate more time to break down and practise the poses than what we have in a regular yoga class. The workshop will cover:

  • Drills and skills

  • Technique

  • Biomechanics

  • Modifications based on the individual body


Who can join?

This workshop is aimed for all students who has started to practice inversions and would like to expand their knowledge and get more confident upside down. The workshop is an introduction to inversions and therefore it’s perfect for students who would like to learn how

About AC:

AC (Anna-Chatrine) tries to apply a holistic approach and a playful and curious mindset to her yoga classes as she seeks to invite you into a space beyond the physical practice. Therefore, her classes will often include a mix of different elements and styles all depending on the theme and mood of the class, and as such yoga is never just ‘one thing’ in AC’s classes. With an upbringing in rhythmic gymnastics you can expect to find playful flows, inversions and armbalances as part of her active classes, sometimes mixed with chanting or meditation to help provide a wider experience around a certain theme. In her gentle classes you’ll often find a bit of soft movement before the energy gradually begins to slow down as you enter deeper passive stretches as well as a softer state of mind. AC seeks to create a holistic experience to leave you with a sense of empowerment, be it an active or gentle practice.
