QIGONG & INTEGRATED MOVEMENT – IN-DEPTH, INTENSIVE COURSE

In this 8-session course, we’ll work in-depth with the basics of qigong, with a particular emphasis on learning how to identify and dissolve the static tension patterns behind movement restrictions, to help you achieve lightness, freedom, and fluidity in your movements.

With the fundamental movements of qigong as a basis, we are going to learn how to perceive and release static tension around specific joints, working from macro- to micro-movements to precisely target the particular components of the fascial system involved in the restriction. We will then gradually put together the macro-movement to achieve better integration of the whole body, and

As the course progresses, you will experience more freedom, lightness, and greater mobility in your movements, and there will be plenty of space to bring into the practice your own particular challenges, whether you experience them in qigong, daily life, or in your other movement practices.

During the course, we will go through all the major joints and important centers of movement in both the axial body (head, chest, spine) and the appendicular body (arms and legs, including the pelvis), and if you have specific challenges in that area, there will be plenty of room to work with them and receive detailed guidance to help address your partterns. Each session will last 2 hours to makeroom for personalized instruction as well as partner.

About the Teacher

Emil Schuldt is an expert in qigong, and integrated movement with more than 15 years of experience practicing and teaching, and the founder of Tension Therapy™, a comprehensive system of rehabilitation for myofascial disorders.

For six years, Emil lived and trained in Shanghai with one of China’s most renowned qigong and martial arts teachers, Qian Zhao Hong. He’s attended several fascial dissection workshops with Carla Stecco in Italy, has taught anatomy, foundational biomechanics, manual therapy, and palpation, worked with biomechanics research with the Danish Police, and is a certified health professional.

Emil divides his time fairly evenly between training, treating, teaching, reading philosophy, learning how to run barefoot, and working to promote a better understanding of the fascial system with the health sciences.
