50-Hour Hands-On Assist Teacher Training

 A Guide to Supporting

With Hanne Konstantin

Hands-on assist is often referred to as "adjustments". By calling it an assist, we shift the focus to exploration- helping students feel and experience how small changes in their alignment affect their body and the pose.

The purpose of an assist is not to force a student into a specific shape, but to guide them toward discovering how their body works. Through gentle external feedback, you help students sense how subtle shifts can create more balance, stability, or ease. This empowers them to explore and refine their practice on their own.

To assist effectively, you’ll need:

  1. Anatomical understanding of the pose you're assisting.

  2. A clear sense of which part of the body could benefit from a different alignment.

  3. Practical knowledge of how to approach and offer assistance safely and confidently.

Like any skill in yoga, assisting takes practice. You’ll need to try, learn from mistakes, and try again until you develop the sensitivity to offer subtle, confident, and safe hands-on support.

In this Teacher Training, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Explore assists for a variety of poses.

  • Receive hands-on assistance to feel its impact.

  • Practice giving assists to others.

  • Exchange thoughtful feedback to refine your skills.

By the end, you’ll build the confidence to offer hands-on assists that are respectful, safe, and empowering for your students- helping them deepen their practice while maintaining their autonomy.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

Hanne has been teaching yoga since 1998 with +500 YATT

Has a very thorough insight into anatomy and the entire musculoskeletal system, after studying medicine at Odense University with i.a. anatomy and physiology.

It was a coincidence when I tried my first AstangaYoga class and became so fascinated by this encounter after the first hour that it gradually developed into a love affair that I feel I have to pass on, which is why I have dedicated all my working time to yoga.

The love and joy I have found in my yoga, I try to pass on when I teach. It should also be fun to practice yoga.

When I later came to a playful Rocket Yoga class in San Francisco I decided to go back to get a Teachers Training and was the first Rocket Teacher in Denmark.

However, I place great emphasis on yoga being safe, so my teaching will be characterized by everyone learning to get in and out of the positions safely.

She guides you through detailed instruction and provides wonderful assists and adjustments to bring you deeper in your pose and help with correct alignment. She has a deep understanding of yoga and you can feel that when you attend one of her classes.
